Crews remove the 40 year old foundation as they make way for the new I-210 Gold Line Bridge.

Many of you have seen the steel cages sticking out of the completed deep foundations as you head eastbound on the I-210 Freeway between Baldwin and Santa Anita Avenues. With that work done, work now shifts to removing the foundation of the old bridge that was demolished following the 1994 Northridge earthquake and drilling 36 smaller foundations (50 feet deep by 3 feet in diameter) to support the future bridge’s abutments.
