Thank you to the more than 600 community members and elected officials that attended Saturday’s dedication of the $265 million, 24-acre Foothill Gold Line Operations Campus in Monrovia. Among the officials present were Congress Members Grace Napolitano and Norma Torres; State Senators Bob Huff and Dr. Ed Hernandez; Assembly Majority Floor Leader Chris Holden and Assembly Members Ed Chau and Roger Hernandez; Los Angeles County Supervisors Mike Antonovich and Hilda Solis; the Foothill Gold Line Board of Directors and dozens of mayors and city council members from throughout the San Gabriel Valley – all of whom participated in commemorating the on-budget, ahead-of-schedule achievement. Metro’s new CEO, Phil Washington also attended and participated in the dedication ceremony.
Here are some photos that start to capture the day:
Over the next few weeks the facility will be formally turned over to Metro, who will begin the important process of commissioning vehicles to the facility in advance of the Foothill Gold Line’s completion in late-September. Thank you to all that attended!
