If you were in the area last week, you may have seen crews at the site of the planned Iconic Freeway Structure on the I-210 near Arcadia. This was the Skanksa USA/AECOM team doing “potholing” tests (approved by CALTRANS, of course) to verify results of extensive soil testing in July 2009. Information they gathered will help finalize designs for the 584-foot bridge to carry the Gold Line over eastbound lanes of the freeway. Construction on the Iconic Freeway Structure – which is the first piece of the Phase 2A segment – is scheduled to begin next April.
