Two new members of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Board of Directors were sworn in Thursday during the first Metro board meeting of 2021.

L.A. County Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell and Pomona Mayor Tim Sandoval will take their seats on the 14-member board that oversees the transit agency.

Sandoval replaces Duarte Councilman John Fasana, who retired at the end of 2020.

“There’s a lot of work to be done in L.A. County, and I also just want to express my thanks to past board member John Fasana for just being an incredible leader in the San Gabriel Valley in L.A. County,” Sandoval said Thursday.
