Claremont is the next stop in our series highlighting cities in the Foothill Extension Azusa to Montclair segment.
Claremont is home to the Claremont Colleges, a group of seven highly ranked liberal arts colleges. Attend a lecture, community class or cultural event, or take a walk through campus to enjoy the striking architecture.
Down the street from the colleges is The Claremont Village, which features a variety of shops, restaurants, art galleries and a movie theatre. One of the most popular restaurants here is Viva Madrid, an authentic Spanish tapas bar and restaurant, where the bustling weekend crowds are a testament to the flavor and authenticity of the dishes served.
Claremont is also home to the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden. Spreading 86 acres, the Rancho Santa Ana is the largest botanic garden dedicated exclusively to California’s native plants. The gardens’ educational programs, library and astonishing collection of plants make this a must-see for anyone with an interest in gardening.
