Each of these artists was selected by a committee of community stakeholders in 2007, after a competitive process. They all provide a very interesting resume of accomplishments. All have won awards and had works exhibited in major exhibitions; three are professors of art; one was responsible for the newest memorial art piece at the National Mall in DC, and one is even a state senator.
