[Excerpt]:

The long-awaited extension of Citrus Avenue – which provides a direct link from the Metro Azusa Pacific/Citrus College Gold Line station to those campuses – opened Monday morning, with commuters and students walking the route before the ribbon was even cut.

In the six months since the station opened, the Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority has been providing a shuttle that takes riders from the station, through the Rosedale community, around student housing for Azusa Pacific University and back toward the bend where Citrus becomes Foothill Boulevard. Gold Line riders now have a less than quarter mile walk from the station to either campus, and drivers can easily get to and from Promenade, Rosedale’s main thoroughfare.
