Foothill Gold Line booths at this weekend’s Earth Day events

Foothill Gold Line Construction Authority staff will be hosting booths and participating in this weekend’s Earth Day events: the 2018 Glendora Earth Day Festival (Saturday) and CicLAvia Heart of the Foothills (Sunday). Stop by our booths to learn more about the 12.3-mile Foothill Gold Line light rail project from Glendora to Montclair.

Note: There will be two Foothill Gold Line booths at the CicLAvia event – at the San Dimas and Claremont stops.

Sunday is the first time CicLAvia is coming to eastern Los Angeles County and the event that encourages locals to get out of their cars and explore will connect the cities of San Dimas, La Verne, Pomona and Claremont.

The 6.5-mile route will take participants through San Dimas and La Verne via Bonita Avenue. In Pomona, participants will take Fulton Road from Bonita to Arrow Highway. In Claremont, participants will travel on Arrow Highway, South College Avenue and First Street. The event begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m.

Here are five things to know:

1) Every city will have a hub, which will serve as a meeting or resting spot for participants. There will also be restrooms and bike repair stations at the hubs, which can be found at:

San Dimas: 245 E. Bonita Ave. and 125 W. Bonita Ave
La Verne: 2082 Bonita Ave.
Pomona: 499 E. Arrow Highway
Claremont: 139 W. First St.
