This week crews were hard at work on the second of three deep foundations. Drilling is almost complete thanks to this 14 foot diameter drill auger (blade).

Following the 400 cubic yard concrete pour that completed the first deep foundation, crews coordinated the move of the massive drill rig and 300 ton crane from the southern shoulder to the median of the freeway. Drilling is expected to be completed by late this week on the second deep foundation, with a second reinforcing steel cage arriving next Monday night.
